Kosta’s Wine Night in Old Town

Many local diners are familiar with Kosta’s in Brewer…they are known for their friendly service, and great food at great prices. We have been doing a Wine & Tapas Night there on the first Monday of the Month for over a year now…In Old Town…there is another Kosta’s…it also offers friendly service with great food at great prices…Beth, the manager there decided to start doing her own Wine & Tapas Night in April…on the Third Monday of the month…it was an immediate success…Wine & Tapas Night… as we do it…is a 3 Course, Small Plate Menu accompanied by 3 flights of Wine. This way, you have the opportunity to taste the food with 2 different complimenting wines…Flight One…Lobster Bisque with Creme Freche and Micro Greens paired with Hecht & Bannier Rose’ (a French Rose’ blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Cinsault) and Alpha Domus Chardonnay (unoaked) from New Zealand…two very different wines that both worked with the bisque perfectly…Flight Two…Mushroom Stuffed Pork Loin with Roasted Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus…Paired with LaPierre Raisins Gamay from France…a light and fruity red…and Masciarelli Montepulciano d’Abruzzo…a big bold dry red from Italy…two delicious wines…one delicious dish…and again both wines paired perfectly with the pork…Flight Three…Wild Berry Shortcake with Chambord Whipped Creme…paired with Lamberti Prosecco…from Italy…off dry sparkling wine that pairs perfectly with most berries…and the bubbles gently cleanse the whip cream off your tongue…a refreshing way to end an evening of great food and wine…Remember the third Monday of the Month…Kosta’s in Old Town…and did I mention that in only costs $30.
